Postcard From Our Travelers, Hello from the Windy City! This week marks the one-year anniversary of my first, completely solo trip. I chose to visit Chicago because there is so much to do and explore, and also because this Midwestern city is brimming with culture. From deep-dish pizza--a Chicago staple--to dim sum in Chinatown and even Chicago-style hot dogs at Wrigley Field--the home of my favorite team, the Chicago Cubs--the impact of those who settled here is present at every meal. But other experiences--taking in the architecture, visiting the Cloud Gate and other public art, embracing the theater scene at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and absorbing the art at the Art Institute of Chicago, to name just a few--also showcase the cultural influences in this melting pot of a city. My few days there couldn't even scratch the surface of all that Chicago has to offer, but I do know there is something for everyone. You don't have to go abroad to have an international experience!
